Honadle’s Fine Candies
The Honadle’s name
is a local tradition as rich as its chocolate.
More than 30 years ago
Honadle’s Fine Candies closed the
doors of its headquarters in Cuyahoga Falls,
Ohio. Today, the grandson of Lester Hohenadel,
Bob Hohenadel, is working to bring back
the tradition of the original Honadle’s
Fine Candies recipes.
Honadle’s Fine Candies
started in 1928 after Lester Hohenadel partnered
with established chocolatier, Harry London,
Jr. in Toledo, Ohio. The business suffered
during the Great Depression and so did the
partnership. The two parted ways and Hohenadel
reestablished the company in Cuyahoga Falls.
Six months after Honadle’s
returned to the market, Bob Hohenadel was
introduced to Hattie Larlham CEO Dennis
Allen. Hohenadel had a new product and Allen
had a new store, Hattie’s Café & Gifts.
The two agreed that the history and ties
to the local community of both of their
organizations complimented each other and
from this agreement a mutually beneficial
partnership was born.
Hattie’s Café & Gifts
is now the exclusive retailer of Honadle’s
Fine Candies in Hudson, Ohio. The Honadle’s
product line is available for individual
sale or as part of many of the new gift
baskets at the café.
Honadle’s also produces
the new Hattie’s Chocolate bar. The
chocolate bar is available in milk and dark
chocolate at Hattie’s Café & Gifts.
Other classic Honadle’s candy selections
including pecan snappers, coconut haystacks
and its all-time best-seller vanilla peanut
cream clusters are also available at the
café to mark a holiday or special
occasion or just to satisfy your own sweet
tooth.
