About Hattie's
Café & Gifts
Hattie’s Café
& Gifts is many things to many people.
To the people who receive services from
Hattie Larlham it is a place to learn, grow
and contribute to their community. To Hattie
Larlham employees it is a bold new initiative
for the employment and advocacy of people
with disabilities. To customers, it is a
socially conscious way to support a wonderful
organization and a worthwhile cause.
Hattie Larlham continues
to grow to meet the changing needs of people
with disabilities. As children grow into
adults, the need for social interaction
and community involvement develops. To meet
this need, Hattie Larlham, in partnership
with the City of Hudson and the County of
Summit Developmental Disabilities Board,
created Hattie's Café & Gifts.
The café is a safe and educational
environment where adults with disabilities
can learn valuable and rewarding vocational
skills they can take with them through their
careers.
Hattie’s Café
& Gifts is named for the founder and
namesake of our organization, Mrs.
Hattie Larlham. Mrs. Larlham would be
proud to know today, nearly 50 years after
she began caring for local children with
severe physical disabilities, her mission
continues to guide our work.
More than a store, Hattie’s Café & Gifts is the culmination of many ideas.
