Assistive
Technology
Hattie Larlham prides
itself on the use of technology to better
the individuals’ lives we serve. Through
cutting-edge technology, individuals are
now able to interact more with their environment
while learning the concept of cause and
effect.
Switch technology and
touch screen computers are regularly used
to aid the creation of drawings and other
crafts. More advanced switches enable users
unable to vocalize thoughts and feelings
to communicate with others through simple
commands and even jokes.
This advanced technology
is often used in our school, ACHIEVE
(Achieving Challenging Habilitation In Educational
and Vocational Experiences) program and
throughout our pods.
