Medical Services
The Hattie Larlham Center
for Children with Disabilities (HLCCD) employs
a full-time
pediatrician, nurse
practitioner and respiratory therapist.
This trained team is dedicated to providing
24-hour, on-call services to the individuals
we serve.
Each individual is reviewed
yearly by a multidisciplinary team comprised
of allied therapy
(physical, occupational and speech therapy),
dietician, social service, nursing, medical,
respiratory therapy
and service coordinator.
An annual history and
physical of each individual containing detailed
medical information from birth is in an
easily accessible database facilitating
timely transfers of important medical information
for both scheduled and emergent physician
visits.
Emphasis is placed on
care coordination between outpatient physician
specialists and during hospitalizations
to ensure the highest standard of care given
the complex, chronic nature of the individuals.
More than 400 specialized physician visits
occur outside of our facility annually and
there are approximately 250 annual specialist
visits on campus provided by pediatric neurology,
orthopedic, ENT, dental, psychology and
physiatry from nearby pediatric hospitals
such as Akron Children’s, Rainbow
Babies and Children’s Hospital and
the Cleveland Clinic.
