Gifts In
Kind
Policies and Procedures
Only the director of
development, associate director of development
or executive directors of the Hattie Larlham
agencies may accept gifts in kind. They
are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Examples
of gift-in-kind donations are assistive
technology, blankets, clothing, computer
equipment, furniture, holiday gifts, household
appliances, therapy equipment and toys.
If you wish to make a
donation, the director of development or
associate director of development determines
if the gift(s) will be accepted. They, in
turn, will contact the executive directors
of the Hattie Larlham agencies who consider
all offers of gift in kind donations for
their merit and need. Items that can be
used will be directed to the appropriate
department for distribution.
Any gift that includes
a liability attached cannot be accepted
until reviewed by the executive director
of the Hattie Larlham Foundation. Examples
of gifts that may have a liability attached
are real property (residential, non-residential,
commercial and industrial properties) and
mineral, oil or gas properties.
Please contact the director
of development or associate director of
development at 800.233.8611 for an appointment
to determine if the gifts are needed. Office
business hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,
Monday through Friday. A directory of the
Hattie Larlham development
department is also available.
