Hattie Larlham Hits the Links
PROCEEDS BENEFIT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
(MANTUA, Ohio)
April 22, 2009 – On Wednesday,
May 20, Hattie Larlham will host its 23rd
annual Sugar Bush Golf Classic at Sugar
Bush Golf Club in Garrettsville, Ohio.
By participating in
this annual shotgun-style golf tournament,
golfers will be supporting the more than
1,500 people with disabilities that Hattie
Larlham serves. Last year’s golf classic
raised a record $64,000 for the cause. Throughout
its twenty-two year history, the outing
has earned more than $462,000 in net proceeds,
and Hattie Larlham anticipates a significant
addition to that total with the revenue
generated from this year’s tournament.
Proceeds will specifically
benefit the organization’s Hope
At Work
capital campaign, a $16 million expansion
and renovation of the Hattie Larlham Center
for Excellence in Mantua, Ohio. The project
completion date is slated for July 2009.
Several local celebrities
will be on hand for the tournament, including
Cleveland Indians legend Lenny Barker and
retired NFL linebacker Gary Jeter. The outing
is hosted by Bob DiBiasio, the Tribe’s
vice president of public relations and Bill
Wills from WTAM 1100’s Wills and Snyder.
The tournament allows
golfers to play either a morning or afternoon
round, with a 7:45 a.m. tee time for the
morning round and a 1:30 p.m. start for
the afternoon round. The awards dinner will
follow at 6:30 p.m.
For an additional
$25, the Golfer’s Play Package enables
participants to enhance their experience
by awarding them two mulligans, two celebrity
shots, two chances to “Hit the Circle”
on a Par 3, one chance to participate in
“Guess Your Drive,” and an opportunity
to participate in the putting contest.
Participants will
also have the opportunity to win several
raffle prizes, including $1,500 cash, a
golf package or a Coffee of the Month gift
basket from Hattie’s Café &
Gifts. Raffle tickets are $10 each or three
for $25.
The Sugar Bush Golf
Club is located at 11186 State Route 88
in Garrettsville, Ohio. Golfers can register
by calling 330.274.2272, ext. 3878. Single
player registration is $125, and four-player
team registration costs $500.
The tournament is
presented by Sugar Bush Golf Club and The
Middlefield Banking Company.
