Honored
as
Nonprofit
Board
Executive
of
the
Year
(MANTUA,
Ohio)

Hattie
Larlham
Care
Group
Board
President
Mike
Weinhardt
has
been
honored
by
Smart
Business
and
Medical
Mutual
as
a
winner
of
the
2009
Nonprofit
Board
Executive
of
the
Year
award.
Weinhardt
will
be
officially
honored
at
an
award
ceremony
on
Dec.
3,
2009,
at
LaCentre
Conference
and
Banquet
Facility
in
Westlake.
This
award
is
part
of
the
Smart
Business
and
Medical
Mutual
Pillar
Awards
program
that
is
designed
to
demonstrate
the
tie
between
the
for-profit
and
nonprofit
worlds
and
showcase
best
practices.
Weinhardt
has
brought
his
experience
as
a
Senior
Vice
President
for
Robert
W.
Baird
&
Co.
to
his
work
with
Hattie
Larlham
during
his
long
tenure
of
service
to
the
Mantua-based
nonprofit.
Weinhardt
formally
became
a
Hattie
Larlham
board
member
in
January
2000.
Before
that,
he
served
as
the
organization’s
investment
consultant.
He
became
the
President
of
the
Care
Group
Board
earlier
this
year
in
January.
Among
his
many
contributions
to
the
organization,
Weinhardt
played
an
instrumental
role
on
the
ad
hoc
committee
that
oversaw
the
construction
of
the
new
Life
Achievement
Center
and
the
renovations
to
the
Hattie
Larlham
Center
for
Excellence.
He
also
serves
a
leadership
function
on
the
capital
campaign
committee
for
this
project
as
well.
Prior
to
being
named
a
Nonprofit
Board
Executive
of
the
Year,
Hattie
Larlham
recognized
the
importance
of
Weinhardt’s
service
at
the
organization’s
hallmark
Circle
of
Caring
annual
fundraiser
in
2005.
Weinhardt
was
celebrated
as
Hattie
Larlham’s
Circle
of
Caring
Honoree,
an
award
that
acknowledges
individuals
who
make
extraordinary
contributions
toward
helping
those
with
disabilities.
