Another important milestone in the history
of Hattie Larlham was reached May 12, 2008.
Two renovated wings,
Cattail Crossings and Reflection Ponds,
reopened at the Hattie Larlham Center for
Excellence in Mantua, Ohio.
With modernized rooms,
special bacteria-resistant flooring and
a state-of-the-art air filtration system,
the revamped sections better accommodate
the 126 children and young adults, many
who have respiratory complications, living
at the Center for Excellence.
It took nearly a year
for the renovations to complete.
The construction was part
of a $16 million renovation of the Hattie
Larlham Center for Excellence, which began
back in Sept. 2006. Since that time, Hattie
Larlham also opened a technology unit stocked
with the latest medical equipment used to
treat the most complicated conditions.
The entire project is
slated to wrap up early next year after
the renovations of two more wings and the
addition of the Life Achievement Center,
a learning hub for people with and without
disabilities, are completed.
