What's In
a Name?
Hattie Larlham Renames Dog Service
William
Shakespeare’s fated romantic, Romeo,
posed the question, “What’s
in a name?” to his sweetheart, Juliet.
Horticultural nomenclature
aside, what is in a name? If the item in
question isn’t a rose, but a Hattie
Larlham program, the answer is nearly 50
years of services for people with disabilities.
Which is why Hattie Larlham
is proud to announce one of its public programs
is getting a new name.
Constant Companions Doggie
Day Care & Boarding is now Hattie
Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding.

The new name reflects
the positive vocational work Hattie Larlham
is doing for adults with disabilities in
the community and seeks to reinforce the
Hattie Larlham mission for new and existing
customers.
Customers can still expect
the same quality care for their dogs while
they are out of town or away from home.
The trustworthy and knowledgeable staff
will remain at Hattie Larlham Doggie Day
Care & Boarding. And the adults with
disabilities who work at Hattie Larlham
Doggie Day Care & Boarding will continue
to receive on-the-job training and vocational
development as well as shower all of the
dogs with love and affection.
The new name also distinguishes
Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding
from other dog cares in the area. When customers
use the short-term day care services or
the long-term overnight boarding services,
they not only get attentive, quality care
for their pet, but also support the vocational
ambitions of adults with disabilities who
love dogs.
The change also serves
to differentiate the company from the popular
animal therapy program Constant
Companions. For three years, these two
very different programs have shared a similar
name because of their strong relationship
to animal-based programming.
Throughout the next few
months, customers can expect to see the
new name on the company’s business
cards, letterhead and signs as the new Hattie
Larlham name is transitioned into place.
The new name, Hattie Larlham
Doggie Day Care & Boarding, will also
appear in a revised company logo. The company
will retain the familiar dog paw/awareness
ribbon/heart logo, with the new Hattie Larlham
name appearing beneath it.
The animal therapy program,
Constant Companions, will get a new logo
to further differentiate it from Hattie
Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding.
Its name will remain unchanged.
