Job Description:
The Habilitation Assistant assists the unit
in training new staff and in providing and
fulfilling the medical, health and developmental
needs of each individual and maintains a
clean, healthy, homelike environment. May
be responsible for up to six individuals
(1st and 2nd shift) or twelve individuals
(3rd shift) on assigned pod.
Qualifications:
Must be motivated, patient, hard working,
and trustworthy.
Education Training:
High school diploma or GED.
Experience:
Experience from employment or volunteer
work with mentally and/or physically disabled
individuals helpful; must be able to handle
certain behaviors; must be able to work
with other people in a group setting; must
have no lifting restriction.
Working Conditions:
Will work nights, evenings, days, weekends,
and holidays as scheduled and may be transferred
to other shift as needed. May be asked to
go on various trips with residents; may
be called to work mandatories if the facility
is short staffed.
