Kitchen Assistant
Receiving proper nutrition
is a critical part of the health of people
with developmental disabilities. Individuals
depend on the dietary department to provide
meals that meet their specialized nutritional
needs. Kitchen assistants work within the
dietary department to implement portion
control and recipe modifications that are
individualized for each resident of the
Hattie Larlham Center for Children with
Disabilities.
Kitchen assistants are
responsible for a range of duties including
the preparation, storage and delivery of
food, requisitioning of food stock inventory,
maintaining a sanitary environment and assisting
and preparing food for special events for
individuals or departments.
Fast food restaurants
may provide a paycheck but inspiring lives
is rarely a part of the food service industry.
As a kitchen assistant in the dietary department
of Hattie Larlham, employees have the opportunity
to be on the frontline of maintaining or
improving each individual’s health. |
