Research
Hattie Larlham recognizes
the need for ongoing research and innovative
solutions in the field of disabilities.
In July 2001, this need was met when the
Hattie Larlham Research Institute was established
to conduct studies and pioneer new practices
in the care and treatment of individuals
with mental retardation and developmental
disabilities (MR/DD). In the continuing
effort to enhance the quality of life of
individuals with disabilities, the Research
Institute will focus on research in the
fields of assistive technology, clinical
care, allied therapy, education/habilitation
and medical improvements for individuals
with significant disabilities.
To undertake this mission,
Hattie Larlham understands the importance
of teamwork and the exchange of ideas and
information. To this end, Hattie Larlham
welcomes collaborations and partnerships
with universities, hospitals, research firms,
agencies and other organizations.
