Every research project
undertaken by the Hattie Larlham Research
Institute (HLRI) has the potential to benefit
the population served at Hattie Larlham.
With this in mind, all research conducted
by the Hattie Larlham Research Institute
is conducted with the health, safety and
privacy of the individuals served in mind.
The HLRI maintains a Federal Wide Assurance
of compliance with U.S. government policies
and procedures on the protection of human
subjects in research and a commitment to
seek approval for all research through approved
Institutional Review Boards for research
activity. No individual is part of a study
unless the parents, caregivers or guardians
are fully informed of the details of the
study and consent is given. Individuals
and/or their caregivers or guardians are
free to discontinue their participation
in any research study, at any time, without
negative consequences. Confidentiality and
respect is maintained for all research participants.
In addition, the individual’s privacy
is protected under the HIPPA act; therefore,
no personal information is revealed about
research participants.
The Research Institute
is registered with the U.S. government as
an approved lead agency for research grant
submissions through grants.gov and the NIH
Commons. We are actively pursuing federal,
state and private funding to support research
investigations.
