The Connect with Teens summer camp is designed to promote peer interaction and fun social learning opportunities for Northeast Ohio teens with disabilities. Teens enjoy age-appropriate activities set up to foster meaningful friendships with others who have the same interests. Summer campers learn the importance of teamwork as they plan and schedule the day’s activities.
Connect with Teens Camp attendees take part in art activities, play games, cook and have outdoor activities and pool sessions. Hattie Larlham staff encourage an environment of acceptance and help teen campers feel confident when expressing their preferences and feelings. Connect with Teens Camp gives teens the opportunity for social interaction with peers with and without disabilities. This fosters an understanding and acceptance of others.
Connect with Teens Camp attendees are asked to bring a lunch, a change of clothes and swimsuits each camp day. Hattie Larlham is a secure facility and summer campers must be signed in and out by a parent, guardian or designated adult.
Hattie Larlham requires summer camp attendees complete and return a registration form (PDF). Hattie Larlham staff encourages parents to bring interested campers in for a tour and interview.
Connect with Teens Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A pre-camp and post-camp is available for parents who need to drop off their children early or pick them up later than the scheduled camp times. Connect with Teens Camp pre-camp hours are 6:30 to 9 a.m. Post-camp hours are 3 to 5 p.m.
