

Sensory Adventure Day provides children the opportunity to explore different play experiences designed to promote sensory stimulation. The focus of Sensory Adventure Day is child-directed activity with adult involvement for support and encouragement.
Each week takes participants through a variety of sensory experiences focused around a central theme like the ocean, space, carnival, animals and the seasons.
The schedule includes a morning of sensory exploration followed by lunch, time in the pool and rest time. Each day finishes with a group activity. Children are provided support for each sensory experience, pool time and group activity. In between group activities, children can explore activity stations that include:
Sensory Adventure Day is for children ages 2 to 7 with sensory processing issues including, but not limited to, autism spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, Down syndrome or dysfunction of sensory integration as well as typically developing children.
A parent or guardian must attend with any child under 3 years of age.
Sensory Adventure Day attendees are asked to bring a lunch, change of clothes and swimsuit each camp day. Hattie Larlham is a secure facility and campers must be signed in and out by a parent, guardian or designated adult.
Hattie Larlham requires Drop and Play attendees complete and return a registration form (PDF) in advance. Children signed up for 10 sessions receive a reduced rate.
