Hattie Larlham recognizes the need for fun and socialization in the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities. Hattie Larlham organizes recreation activities and field trips to places like Cleveland Zoo, Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, Playhouse Square, professional sporting events and museums.
In addition to field trips, there are recreation programs at the Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities with community groups and volunteers that provide entertainment, crafts and sports. Activities are made accessible so people with developmental disabilities can participate. There are also several events throughout the year for people with developmental disabilities including holiday parties and an annual formal Prom dance.
One of the larger recreation programs at Hattie Larlham are a collection of camps for children and teens with developmental disabilities.
There is always something happening at the Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities. The facility has a number of ammenities that allow people with and without disabilities to play and interact with family, friends, volunteers and staff.
