The Rec & Leisure program provides opportunities for independence and socialization for people with disabilities in Summit County.
Hattie Larlham’s Rec & Leisure program was launched in the spring of 2021 and proudly serves residents of our Summit County community. This innovative new program provides opportunities that promote independence and socialization for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, including people who are on the autism spectrum or who have traumatic brain injuries. Our services focus on each person’s unique interests and needs. Services are available 7 days a week for both minors and adults.
Hattie Larlham’s Rec & Leisure staff help persons served through this program feel included in their communities by helping them engage in activities of their choosing. Our Rec & Leisure professionals assist with social skills, community inclusion, household management and a variety of other areas related to personal growth and achievement, such as:
Independent living skills
· Budgeting/Money management
· Cooking and nutrition
· Household management
· Planning social outings
· Hobby development
· Socialization of choice
Exploring a path to career development
· Learning experiences
