MANTUA,OH - Hattie Larlham has embarked upon a $17.2M capital campaign to expand and revitalize its flagship Intermediate Care Facility, The Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities. The Building on a Legacy Capital Campaign is focused on three core areas: a brand new, state-of-the-art residential unit for ventilator-dependent residents, building-wide renovations of existing residential spaces, and revitalization of new and existing space for its therapy, art, and music programs.

As a leading provider of services to individuals who are ventilator-dependent and reside in an ICF in the state of Ohio, Hattie Larlham will continue to elevate its standard of care with its respiratory program addition. This new 10,051 square foot addition to the Center features 14 new semi-private rooms and state-of-the-art equipment and technology that offers the best possible support for the unique needs of the residents who rely on intensive, round-the-clock respiratory therapy services. “This new respiratory wing is a total game changer for us,” says Hattie Larlham Medical Director, Dr. Richard Grossberg. “As you can imagine, providing a high level of care to our resident population requires a multidisciplinary team. We have dietitians, nurses, respiratory therapists, DSPs, and service coordinators who will now have a place big enough to meet and work and deliver the best possible care.

For 65 years, Hattie Larlham has built its legacy upon a foundation of excellence, and this campaign has been designed to continue raising the bar for the standard of care at the Center. “Since early 2025, we have been in the quiet phase of this campaign and I am proud to report that, in that time, we have raised over $12M for this project,” says Hattie Larlham CEO, Stephen Colecchi. “We are deeply grateful for the generosity of numerous foundations, private donors, our board of directors, and executive team members, without whom this great success would not have been possible.”

Hattie Larlham enters the public phase of the Building on a Legacy Campaign focused on fundraising to improve the lives of its 124 residents through renovating the beloved place they call home. These changes will elevate their daily quality of life with enhanced modernized finishes, energy efficient windows, specialty flooring for wheelchair safety, a new HVAC system for enhanced air quality, and so much more. A home that complements state-of-the-art medical equipment and the comfort of modern amenities with educational, recreational, daily care, and therapeutic programs designed to foster health, happiness, and achievement.
