Respite services provide short-term care for a child or adult with disabilities, allowing family or caregivers a temporary break.
Respite services provide temporary care for a child or adult with disabilities. Respite care is a great option for families or caregivers who need a short-term break due to travel, work or family obligations.
While in our care at the Hattie Lalham Center for Children with Disabilities, persons receiving respite services will receive 24/7 services from nursing and direct care staff, which also includes opportunities to participate in recreation activities. Medical care, such as medication administration, tracheostomy care and gastrostomy nutrition administration are also available as needed.
Respite stays are pre-scheduled and the number of days allowable for respite services in a given calendar year is based on each person’s waiver, or ability to pay if private pay is being used.
Respite services are provided in-house at the Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities, located in Mantua, Ohio. Children and adults should meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Diagnosed intellectual/developmental disability
- Medically stable
- Non-ambulatory
- Not ventilator dependent
- No high behavior support needs.
For information about Hattie Larlham in-house respite services, please contact Nicole Likouris, Respite Nursing Coordinator.
